About Paborito
Through Paborito we want to make Filipino food culture more accessible in Sweden and let more people discover its rich flavors and traditions. Our vision is to create a personal and warm neighborhood restaurant where everyone feels welcome, whether it's a quick lunch, an evening with friends or a special occasion.
What is Filipino food?
Filipino cuisine is strongly influenced by both Chinese and Spanish influences. The flavors are often characterized by a balance between vinegar, citrus and soy, which together with rice creates harmony with the often fatty food.
The Philippines consists of thousands of islands with many diffrent languages, regions and traditions, which means that the food culture varies greatly depending on where in the country you are. Therefore, there are also many different interpretations of the same classic dishes.
At Paborito, we serve our own favorite versions of some of the Philippines most beloved classics.
Who is behind Paborito?
Paborito is run by Krystel “Teng”, who is from the Philippines and has lived in Sweden since 2019. The lack of Filipino food in Sweden sparked her passion for cooking and inspired her to deepen her knowledge in cooking. This led to a culinary education, which she completed in 2025.
